Expressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Architect-led multi-disciplinary design teams for The Forum - a new development housing a Museum, Library, Gallery and Community Facilities, on a strategic site in Castleford town centre. The promoters, the City of Wakefield Metropolitan District Council in conjunction with its external funding and development partners aspire to a building of the highest design quality and operational standard. It will form a physical and spiritual focus for Castleford's heritage, and a centre for education, lifelong learning and heritage appreciation, whilst contributing significantly to Castleford's regeneration. The estimated value of the project is 4 000 000 GBP;
The selection process will take the following format:
- stage 1 : expressions of interest;
- stage 2 : up to six teams invited to produce concept designs;
- stage 3 : successful team to work up their design concept through to completion, subject to funding and planning.
