In support of this initiative the International Union of Architects will organise, during the coming years, various activities with a view to highlighting the role of architects and architecture in achieving this aim As part of this z effort, the UIA launched an international. ideas competition, open to the architects and students of architecture of the world. The aim of this competition was to propose design ideas that could contribute to the eradication of poverty. This competition was organised with the support of UNESCO.
