Vom Vogelnest in die Grube

Stefan | 10.02.2012 09:01 UhrSounds like a magnificent idea,
their pavillon and - in a certain way also sounds like an Hommage to Zumthor and his wonderful space at Cologne's Kolumba, where an archeological matrix - an excavation space of about 2500 years of urban history is integrated into the building.
Anyway - as I'm working in China again these days and the middle kingdom seems quite in search of its centre - I appreciate a lot the new collaboration between Herzog / de Meuron and Ai Weiwei. Some amazing spirits - the artist, who actually wanted to quit architecture and the guys from Basel.
(Continue here in English - hope, nobody minds)

the serpentine team replied to this saying that Herzog/de Meuron and Ai Weiwei have not done any projects as a team yet.

I believe the chosen team is indeed worthy of building the next serpentine pavillon. However, I thought that one of the rules of who gets chosen to design the pavillon is that it is to be an architect / designer who has not yet built in England..

Klingt erstmal ein bisschen kryptisch. Bin gespannt, was dabei heraus kommt. Kann man den Joker versetzen, oder wie ist das gemeint?
Aber ne schöne Beschreibung für 'ne Baugrube, Jungs! ;)
